Elections 2024: Congress unveil 6 resolutions for tribals, What was Mallikarjun Kharge’s statement at the press conference?

Lok Sabha Elections 2024:Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday announced six party resolutions for the tribals. He said that Congress is committed to protecting the interests of tribals.

Elections 2024: Before the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Congress has brought six resolutions for the tribals. Party President Mallikarjun Kharge announced these resolutions in a press conference on Tuesday (March 12). The Congress President said that Congress is committed to protecting water, forests and land.

Six resolutions of Congress for tribals

1.⁠ ⁠Good governance:

For effective implementation of the Forest Rights Act (FRA), a national mission will be established, a special budget will be maintained, and a special action plan will be prepared. We will ensure settlement of all pending FRA claims within 1 year. We will establish a process to review all rejected claims within 6 months. 

2.⁠ ⁠⁠Reforms:

Congress will withdraw all the amendments made by the Modi government in the Forest Conservation and Land Acquisition Acts, due to which the tribals are facing problems on a large scale.

3.⁠ ⁠⁠Security:

Congress is committed to identifying all those settlements or clusters of settlements where STs are in majority as Scheduled Areas in all states and union territories.

4.⁠ ⁠⁠Self-governance:

Congress is committed to making laws in the states as per PESA, so that ‘Village Government’ and ‘Autonomous District Government’ can be established.

5.⁠ ⁠⁠Swabhiman:

The Right to MSP law to be brought by the Congress party, which will give legal status to MSP, will also cover Minor Forest Produce (MFP).

6. Sub Plan:

The Sub Plan for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes sub-plan, initiated by Smt. Indira Gandhi in the late 1970s to ensure a balanced and adequate share of budgetary resources for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, was implemented by the Modi government in 2014. Was abolished by. Congress guarantees to revive the Scheduled Caste Scheme and Tribal Sub-Scheme and make it enforceable by law, as Congress governments have done in some states.
