Elections 2024, Contenders for the Legacy: Voting is being held today (Friday, 26 April) for 88 seats in 13 states in the second phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024. In this phase, the fate of former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s son Vaibhav Gehlot, former CM Vasundhara Raje’s son Dushyat Singh and former Defense Minister AK Antony’s son Anil Antony is at stake. In this phase, many candidates are claimants of legacy.
In the second phase, voting will be held on all 20 seats of Kerala along with 8 seats each in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, 14 in Karnataka, 5 in Bihar, 13 in Rajasthan, 6 in Madhya Pradesh, 5 in Assam, 3 each in West Bengal and Chhattisgarh, and one seat each in Manipur, Tripura and Jammu and Kashmir. The results of which will be out on June 4. For now, today the public will decide the fate of the claimants of the legacy in the EVM.
Claimants for inheritance in the second phase
1. Vaibhav Gehlot, Congress party candidate from Jalore, is the son of former Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot.
2. BJP candidate from Jhalawar-Baran, Dushyant Singh is also the son of former Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje.
3. Prakash Ambedkar, VBA candidate from Akola Lok Sabha seat of Maharashtra, is the grandson of Baba Saheb Ambedkar.Â
4. JDS candidate from Mandya seat of Karnataka, HD Kumaraswamy is the son of former PM HD Deve Gowda.Â
5. CN Manjunath, BJP candidate from Bengaluru Rural, is the son-in-law of former PM HD Deve Gowda.Â
6. Prajwal Revanna, JDS candidate from Hassan Lok Sabha seat, is the grandson of former PM HD Deve Gowda.Â
7. DK Suresh, Congress candidate from Bengaluru Rural, is the brother of Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar.Â
8. Congress candidate from Thrissur, K Muraleedharan, is the son of former CM K Karunakaran.Â
9. Anil Antony, BJP candidate from Pathanamthitta, is the son of former Defence Minister AK Antony.Â
