INDIA Alliance Rally at Mumbai: A day after the conclusion of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s 63-day Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, leaders of the opposition group ‘India’ held a rally in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park. Many opposition leaders including Tejashwi Yadav, MK Stalin, Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Sharad Pawar, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Uddhav Thackeray and Mehbooba Mufti were present at the event organized by Rahul Gandhi. During this, opposition leaders fiercely attacked the central government and BJP. He was also cornered regarding electoral bonds and ED-CBI action.
Speaking at the concluding ceremony of the Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said, “There is a word in Hinduism, ‘power’. We are fighting with a power. The question is, what is that power? The soul of the king is in the EVM.” , It is true. Raja’s soul is in EVM and every institution of the country, ED, CBI… A senior leader of Maharashtra leaves the Congress party and cries to my mother saying ‘Sonia ji, I am feeling ashamed. That I don’t have the courage to fight this power. I don’t want to go to jail. Thousands of people have been intimidated like this…”
Taking aim at the BJP-led central government over the alleged use of central agencies and EVMs (Electronic Voting Machines) against the opposition, he said that the ruling party will not be able to win the Lok Sabha elections without EVMs, ED (Enforcement Directorate) and CBI. ‘
Rahul Gandhi said that he started Bharat Jodo Yatra to communicate with the people because the media ignores issues like unemployment and inflation.
At the concluding ceremony of Bharat Jodo Nyaya Yatra, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge said, “The ‘power’ that Rahul Gandhi was talking about, I will openly say that Modi ji has this power in the form of RSS and Manuvad… They want to crush us with this power…”
On the other hand, Congress has posted a picture of the Mumbai rally on Twitter, in which leaders of the opposition alliance ‘India’ are seen with Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. With this Congress wrote, “India will win”
At the Mumbai rally, Sharad Pawar said that Mahatma Gandhi had given a call to ‘Quit India’ from Mumbai. The leaders of ‘India’ from Mumbai should take a pledge to oust BJP from power.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said that electoral bonds are ‘white collar corruption’ of BJP. He said that the ‘India’ alliance will form a secular and inclusive government at the Centre.
Tejashwi Yadav said on Sunday that the fight of ‘India’ alliance is not against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, but it is against the ideology of hatred. Addressing the rally of ‘India’ alliance at Shivaji Park here, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar said that there is a need to protect diversity and brotherhood in the country.
He said, “In Maharashtra, MLAs are simply forced to switch parties, but in Bihar they (BJP) hijacked my uncle.” He said this while pointing to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar leaving RJD and joining BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Yadav said that governments are being toppled with the help of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Talk of 400 seats to change the Constitution: Mufti
Whereas former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah said that we have to make India safe for all the people, no matter what religion they belong to. He said, “The first Bharat Jodo Yatra started from Kanyakumari and ended in Kashmir. It was snowing in Kashmir, many people had not seen snow. This is our India… You have to protect your votes, because “This machine (EVM) is a thief. When you cast your vote, check the paper… When the INDIA coalition government comes, this machine will be destroyed and the Election Commission will become independent.”
PDP President Mehbooba Mufti said that BJP talks about winning more than 400 Lok Sabha seats to change the Constitution. He said that people of BJP are afraid of ‘Gandhi’ in the name of Rahul Gandhi.
Mehbooba Mufti said, “Today I see that people of different thoughts and ideas have gathered here. This is India. Elections are about to come and the most powerful weapon of the Constitution is your vote in your hands.”
We are not afraid of going to jail: Saurabh Bhardwaj
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said, “We are all here together because we are not afraid of going to jail. We have to fight to win.” Bhardwaj said that electoral bonds have exposed the BJP and people should be made aware about it.
Kalpana Soren, wife of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, was also present in this rally. She said that my husband was put in jail under a conspiracy.
