Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Nomination Rejected in Khajuraho, Walkover in Surat, Candidate Joins BJP in Indore; INDIA Giving NDA a ‘Cakewalk’ Before Results

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: In the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the India alliance is seen trying its best to defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP-led NDA.

Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Opposition alliance Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INA) is set to take on the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections , but at present it seems to be giving a cake walk to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led alliance.

In fact, a total of three developments one after the other have made the political battle easier for the NDA. Be it the rejection of nomination in Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh, a walkover in Surat, Gujarat or the most recent case of Indore, where the opposition candidate joined the BJP.

Let us know about these three important developments:

INC was disappointed before voting in Khajuraho

This matter is of April 8, 2024. Even before the elections in MP, the All India Alliance had faced disappointment. As per the agreement, the nomination of Meera Deepak Yadav, the candidate from Khajuraho seat given to the Samajwadi Party (SP) led by former CM of Uttar Pradesh (UP), Akhilesh Yadav, was rejected, after which the most disappointment was seen among the Congressmen. This is because the Congress has a mass base there.

In Khajuraho, BJP’s state president Vishnu Dutt Sharma is the candidate for the second consecutive time. He won the 2019 general election by a margin of almost 4 lakh votes. In such a situation, SP and Congress were facing a big problem as to whom to support, because as a national level party, only Kamlesh Patel of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is in the fray. However, on 15 April 2024, Congress decided to support All India Forward Block candidate RB Prajapati from this seat.

BJP candidate won the election unopposed in Surat

The nomination form of Congress candidate Nilesh Kumbhani from Surat seat in Gujarat was disqualified on April 20, 2024. Three proposers (Ramesh Palara, Jagdish Savaliya and Dhruvin Dhamelia) claimed that they had not signed his nomination form, while nine candidates remained in the fray, out of which eight including BSP candidate Pyarelal Bharti and independent candidates also withdrew their names. This was the reason that BJP opened its account there even before the election results.

BJP candidate Mukesh Dalal won unopposed, after which there will be no election on Surat seat. This was the first time in Lok Sabha elections in the state when a candidate won the election unopposed. BJP candidates have been winning in Surat with a huge margin of votes since the 1990s, while in most constituencies of Gujarat the fight is between two parties (Congress and BJP).

Setback in Indore, Akshay Kanti Bomb backs down

Congress suffered a major setback on 29 April 2024 in Indore seat, when the party’s candidate Akshay Kanti Bam withdrew his nomination and then became a part of BJP. By doing this, he dropped a big political bomb. Before the latest developments, the contest in Indore was considered to be between Congress’s Akshay Kanti Bam and BJP candidate Shankar Lalwani, but now the picture is different. In the last assembly elections, Congress was wiped out in Indore. Congress did not win any seat in Indore.
