Maharashtra Election 2024: With the end of the nomination deadline for the Maharashtra assembly elections, the electoral picture has become clear. Due to rebellion in Shiv Sena and NCP, this time 6 big parties are in the fray. This is the reason why there are more rebels. There are rebels on almost every seat in the state. Now everyone’s eyes are on the last date for withdrawal of nominations (November 4). After that it will be known how the fight will be. This time 7,995 candidates have filed nominations. On the last day, 4,996 candidates filed their nominations.

Mahayuti and MVA did not announce the seat sharing formula even after the nominations ended. If we look at the candidates, BJP is the largest party in Mahayuti with 148 candidates and Congress is the largest party in MVA with 103 candidates.

Both parties are contesting fewer seats than in the 2019 assembly elections. Last time, BJP had fielded its candidates on 164 seats and Congress on 147 seats.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena-Shinde has declared its candidates on 80 seats, NCP-Ajit on 53 seats, Shiv Sena-Uddhav on 89 seats and NCP-Sharad on 87 seats. In the last election, Shiv Sena (undivided) and NCP (undivided) had contested on 124-124 seats.

Apart from all this, this time Mahayuti has left 5 seats for its allies. On the other hand, smaller allies of MVA are contesting on 6 seats. The situation is still not clear on 2 seats of Mahayuti and 3 seats of MVA.

Maharashtra Election 2024: 6 parties in the election fray, rebels on almost every seat

Due to rebellion in Shiv Sena and NCP, this time six big parties are in the fray. This is why there are more rebels. There are rebels on almost every seat in the state. Now everyone’s eyes are on the last date of withdrawal of nomination, 4 November. Only after that will it be known how the fight will be.

Maharashtra Election 2024: Big rebels of Mahayuti, who are contesting as independent candidates

Borivali- Gopal Shetty has been a BJP MP twice. This time he did not get a ticket in the Lok Sabha elections, so he wanted to contest the assembly elections. But the BJP gave the ticket to Sanjay Upadhyay.

Umred- Raju Parve is a leader of the Shiv Sena of the Shinde faction. The party had fielded him from Ramtek in the Lok Sabha elections but he lost. In the assembly elections, this seat went to the BJP. The BJP has fielded Sudhir Parve.

Andheri East- Sweekriti Sharma is the wife of former encounter specialist Pradeep Sharma. She had joined the Shiv Sena of Shinde faction a few days ago. The party has fielded Murji Patel from this seat and she is contesting as an independent.

The matter is very interesting on this seat. Just a few minutes before the deadline for filing nominations ended, Ajit faction of NCP declared Nawab Malik as its candidate. Malik was already claiming the ticket, but BJP was opposing it.

BJP had accused Malik of several charges including treason, calling him close to Dawood Ibrahim. Due to this, Malik was not available. However, on October 29, Nawab Malik filed two nomination papers.

After filing the form, he said that I filed nomination as an NCP candidate. I had also filed nomination as an independent candidate. But the party sent AB form and we submitted the AB form at 2.55 pm. Now I am the official candidate of NCP.

BJP is still opposing the candidature of Nawab Malik. As per the agreement, this seat was given to the Shinde faction. The party has given ticket to Suresh Patil from here. BJP has also supported Patil and is continuously giving statements against Malik.

Maharashtra Election 2024: BJP and Ajit’s NCP face to face on Katol seat

Before the split in NCP, former home minister Anil Deshmukh was elected MLA from this seat. However, when the split happened in the party, Deshmukh supported Sharad Pawar. Because of this, BJP was claiming this seat. At the same time, Ajit was still considering it a won seat of NCP. As a result, both have fielded candidates. BJP has given ticket to Charan Singh Thakur and NCP has given ticket to Naresh Arsade.

Maharashtra Election 2024: A little more confusion in MVA

Pandharpur Sharad Pawar’s NCP has given ticket to Anil Sawant. Congress has fielded Bhagirath Bhalke. Bhagirath is the son of late Congress MLA Bharat Bhalke. After the death of Bharat Bhalke, Bhagirath contested the by-election from NCP but lost. This time when he did not get the ticket, he joined Congress and the party gave him ticket against its ally Sharad faction’s NCP.

Paranda Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena has given ticket to Ranjeet Patil. On the other hand, Sharad Pawar’s NCP has fielded former MLA Rahul Mote.

Dilip Mane of Solapur South Congress wanted a ticket from here but under the agreement in MVA, this seat was given to Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena. The party has given the ticket to Amar Patil. Now Dilip Mane is contesting the election as an independent.

Owaisi’s party will contest on these many seats

while Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) is contesting on 89 and NCP (SP) on 87 seats. Six seats have been given to other allies of MVA, while there is no clarity on three assembly seats. With this, Asaduddin Owaisi’s party All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has given tickets to a total of 14 candidates for the Maharashtra Assembly elections .

How many sitting MLAs’ tickets were cut?

According to a report by news agency PTI, both BJP and Congress have cut tickets of sitting MLAs. The ruling BJP did not give tickets to eight of its sitting MLAs. On the other hand, Congress cut tickets of five sitting MLAs.

Ajit Pawar and Sharad Pawar did not field two sitting MLAs of their party this time. Shiv Sena led by CM Eknath Shinde has fielded almost all the MLAs again except two MLAs.
