Political Turmoil in Himachal Pradesh: Congress Government on the Brink of Collapse? Rajya Sabha Elections Spark Speculation

Himachal Pradesh Rajya Sabha Election: Voting took place today on one Rajya Sabha seat. Congress made Abhishek Singhvi its candidate. Whereas BJP gave ticket to Harsh Mahajan. Cross voting is being claimed in this election.

Political Turmoil in Himachal Pradesh: The ruling Congress seems to be facing a big setback in the Himachal Pradesh Rajya Sabha elections. Sources said that 6 Congress MLAs have done cross voting. That means he voted for BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan. Congress has nominated senior Supreme Court lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi as its candidate.

Sources said that in this way Congress candidate Singhvi can get 34 votes. Harsh Mahajan is also likely to get 34 votes, including 25 votes from BJP, 3 from Independents and 6 from Congress. According to Congress sources, there is a possibility of cross voting by Sudhir Sharma, Rajendra Rana, Devendra Bhutto, Chaitanya Sharma, Ravi Thakur, Inder Dutt Lakhanpal.

Clouds of crisis over Sukhu government

Now, if the results also come as per the claims, the Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu government of the state may be in trouble. Meanwhile, while talking exclusively to ABP News, former Himachal CM and senior BJP leader Jairam Thakur has said that Sukhu has lost the majority. He should resign.

Harsh Mahajan’s claim

Whereas BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan said that no one is happy with the Sukhu government. Government is about to change in Himachal. After both these statements, political speculation has started in Himachal.

Tension due to Pratibha Singh’s statement

Amidst BJP’s claims, the statement of Himachal Pradesh Congress chief Pratibha Singh, who is said to be angry with Sukhu, has put the party in confusion. He said that the resentment of the MLAs is natural. The MLAs felt that the government could have done something.

However, he also said that we will face the situation. We will sail across, we have the majority. We knew that they (BJP) would use money power. Mandi MP Pratibha Singh said that this is a time of crisis for Congress. Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded its candidate in the election field. BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan has the blessings of the Central Government. In such a situation, they are also confident.

What did Vikramaditya Singh say?

Vikramaditya Singh, son of Himachal Pradesh Congress President Pratibha Singh and minister in the Sukhu government, said that everything will become clear only after the results. If cross voting has taken place then it is a matter of concern. On BJP’s claims of toppling the government, he said that he will speak when the time comes. I will speak openly after the results.

What did CM say?

Amidst all the claims, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that if no Congress MLA is sold, we will get 40 votes. Counting is done in the evening. Only then will I say something.

What is the equation in Himachal?

There are 68 MLAs in Himachal Pradesh Assembly.
All of them have voted for the Rajya Sabha elections.
Congress has 40 MLAs.
Whereas BJP has 25 MLAs.
Krishna Lal Thakur from Nalagarh, Hoshiar Singh from Dehra and Ashish Sharma from Hamirpur are independent MLAs.

Any party needs 35 MLAs to form the government in the state. If these six Congress MLAs continue to adopt a rebellious attitude like in the Rajya Sabha elections, then Sukhu’s government may be in trouble.
