In an article by RSS member Ratan Sharda in RSS-affiliated magazine Organiser, the election results have been termed as overconfidence for BJP leaders. It was said, “The results of the 2024 general elections came as a reality for overconfident BJP workers and leaders. They did not realize that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call to cross 400 was like a target for them and a challenge to the opposition.”
Sarcastic remark on BJP regarding the results of Lok Sabha elections
The article said that any goal is achieved by hard work on the field. Not by sharing posters and selfies on social media. Since they were happy in their bubble, enjoying the shine of Narendra Modi ‘s name, they were not listening to the voice on the streets. These election results are a lesson for many people. The result of the 2024 Lok Sabha election is an indication that the BJP needs to correct its path. The results did not go in its favor due to many reasons.
Shed light on the relationship between BJP and RSS
RSS member Ratan Sharda also talked about the relationship between BJP and the Sangh in the article. He said that I want to answer the allegation that RSS did not work for BJP in this election. Let me say clearly that RSS is not a field force of BJP. In fact, the world’s largest party has its own workers. Regular election work like reaching out to voters, explaining the party’s agenda, distributing literature and voter cards etc. is its responsibility. RSS has been making people aware about the issues that affect them and the country.
‘RSS did not help BJP’
He further said that except for the period of 1973-1977, RSS did not directly participate in politics. That was an extraordinary period and in that election, a lot of hard work was done for the restoration of democracy. In 2014, RSS had called for 100 percent voting. This campaign resulted in a commendable increase in voting percentage and change in power. This time also it was decided that RSS workers will organize small local, mohalla, building, office level meetings of 10-15 people and request people to vote. In this, issues of nation building, national unity and support to nationalist forces were also discussed. In Delhi alone, 1,20,000 such meetings have been held.
Criticized MPs and ministers
The article also criticised BJP MPs and ministers. Sharda said, “The biggest complaint of any BJP or RSS worker and common citizen is that it is difficult or impossible to meet the local MP or MLA. Leave alone the ministers. Their insensitivity towards problems is another dimension. Why are the elected MPs and ministers of the BJP always busy? Why are they never seen in their constituencies? Why is it so difficult to respond to messages?
