Jagannath Rath Yatra is a symbol of Lord Jagannath’s annual visit to Gundicha Mata Temple. Once sister Subhadra had expressed her desire to see the city, then Jagannath ji took her on a chariot and took her around the city. Lord Jagannath is considered to be a form of Lord Vishnu and is also worshipped by the followers of Vaishnavism. Jagannath literally means “Jag ke Nath”, i.e. Lord of the Universe.
