Shiv Puran: Do you know in whose meditation Mahadev is engrossed, who are the worshipers of Shiva?

Shiv Puran: Lord Shiva has been called the God of Gods. But Lord Shiva also has his worshipable deities, in whose meditation he is always engrossed. There is a description in Shiv Purana that Lord Ram is the worshipable deity of Lord Shiva.

Shiv Puran: 18 sacred Puranas have been discussed in Hinduism, in which Shiv Purana written by Maharishi Vedvyas is the most read important Purana. Shiva Purana comes fourth in the list of 18 Puranas. The glory and devotion of Lord Shiva has been especially propagated in this Purana.

Shiv Purana related to Shaivism has a total of 6 sections and 24 thousand verses. Besides, various forms, incarnations, Jyotirlinga and devotional power of Shiva have been mentioned in detail in it. Lord Shiva is known by many names like Bholenath, Shiva, Neelkanth, Ardhanarishwar. Lord Shiva is also called the God of Gods.

Mahadev is engrossed in whose meditation

You must have seen in many statues or pictures of God that they mostly remain in meditative posture and remain engrossed in meditation. But do you know that after all, when Lord Shiva himself is the God of gods, then whom does he meditate on and who are his worshipable gods? This has been told about in Shiva Purana.

Mahadev meditates on Ram

It is said in Shiva Purana that Lord Shiva seems engrossed in the meditation of Shri Ram. There is also a popular story related to this, according to which – once after Shiva ji woke up from meditation, Mother Parvati asked him, Swami, you yourself are the god of gods, that is why you are called Devadhidev, then which god are you? Let’s concentrate.

Answering the question of Mother Parvati, Mahadev said that he will answer this question soon. Then Lord Shiva appeared in the dream of Kaushik Rishi and ordered him to write Ram Raksha Stotra. But in the dream itself, Kaushik Rishi said that he is not capable of writing Ram Raksha Stotra. After this, Lord Shiva gave the sage the power to attain knowledge, after which sage Kaushik wrote Ram Raksha Stotra.

After this, Shivji started reciting Ram Raksha Stotra to Mother Parvati. He also told Parvati that he meditates on Lord Rama. The reason for this is that, one chanting of the name Ram is like chanting thousands or thousands of names of Lord Vishnu.
