Mahashivratri 2024: Mahashivratri i.e. that special day of the marriage of Lord Bhole and Mother Parvati which is celebrated with great pomp in the entire country. Every year this great festival is celebrated on the Chaturdashi date of Krishna Paksha of Phalgun month. Kashi’s Astrologer Swami Kanhaiya Maharaj told that Chaturdashi Tithi of Phalgun month will start on March 8, 2024 at 9:57 pm, which will end on March 9 at 6:15 pm. There is a tradition of worshiping during Pradosh period on Mahashivratri, hence this great festival will be celebrated on 8th March only.
Worship like this
On this day, after waking up in Brahma Muhurta, one should take bath and after bath, one should resolve to fast. After this, on this day, Lord Shiva and Parvati should be worshiped at home by offering incense sticks, naivedya and flowers. After this, on this day One should go to any Shiva temple and offer a pot of water followed by three Bel leaves to Lord Bhole. This will make Lord Bhole very happy.
Offer ‘Thandai’ to Bholenath
Apart from this, Bhang and Thandai should also be offered to Lord Bhole on this day and then this Prasad should be distributed among the devotees. This removes the troubles and troubles of life and also destroys the sins.
