Did Hardik Pandya Escape BCCI’s Axe? Assures to Play White-Ball Cricket in Domestic Matches!

According to the report, BCCI officials had talked to Hardik Pandya and Hardik had assured them to play white ball cricket in domestic cricket.

Hardik Pandya: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has created a stir in the sports world by issuing the Central Contract. In fact, in the contract released on Wednesday, Team India’s star batsman Shreyas Iyer and left-handed opening batsman Ishan Kishan have been shown the door. Ishan Kishan was a part of Team India in the ODI World Cup played last year, but he has not played any international match since December.

However, Iyer remained consistent with Team India since the South Africa series. But his one mistake cost him dearly. In this series, along with the exclusion of these two from the central contract, the punishment was also going to fall on Team India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya. However, an assurance given by him to BCCI forced him to be included in the contract.

Hardik Pandya gave assurance to BCCI

Hardik Pandya does not need any identity in modern cricket. He is adept at creating explosions with his bat as well as the ball. He was an important part of Team India in the 2023 ODI World Cup, but he had to be ruled out of the entire World Cup in the middle of the tournament due to an ankle injury, the loss of which was to some extent India’s defeat in the final played against Australia. Had to suffer with. He has been continuously out of Team India since November 2023 and is sweating profusely in NCA to prove his fitness.

Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya was also about to be released from the central contract. But his assurance gave them a sigh of relief. In fact, according to a report in Indian Express, BCCI officials had talked to Hardik Pandya and Hardik had assured them to play white ball cricket in domestic cricket. He also said that Hardik is not feeling fit to play red ball cricket.

A BCCI official said, “We have discussed with Pandya, who has been asked to play domestic white-ball tournaments when available. At this stage, as per the assessment of the BCCI medical team, he is fit to bowl with the red ball.” It is difficult for Pandya to play Ranji Trophy as he is not in good condition, but if India has no commitment then he will have to play other white-ball tournaments. If he does not play, he will be released from the contract.”

Giants angry over Iyer and Ishaan being taken out of contract

Shreyas Iyer was an integral part of Team India in the ODI World Cup some time ago, but he declared himself injured during the England series. Due to which he was also out of the series. However, after this BCCI asked him to play Ranji Trophy, but he made the excuse of back pain.

According to the medical report of NCA, Iyer is absolutely fit. This was the reason why he was shown the way out of Team India for not obeying the BCCI. Ishan Kishan also made the same mistake and did not play a single international match after the World Cup, nor did he play any match for his home team Jharkhand.

After excluding these two from the contract, some veteran former players are justifying this decision. And some veterans are wrong. Former cricketer Irfan Pathan supported this decision, but in the meantime, through gestures, he tried to prove BCCI’s decision regarding Hardik Pandya wrong. Many big names seem to be very angry with the exclusion of both the big names.
