IND vs SA, KL Rahul:Â After winning the second test against South Africa, Team India ended the test series with a 1-1 draw. India had to face a crushing defeat in the first Test of the two-match series. However, after this, in the second test, Rohit brigade made a brilliant comeback and won in just one and a half days. Now wicketkeeper batsman KL Rahul has revealed why the team lost the first test and then how it won the second test.Â
KL Rahul has said that there was no extra aggression in the Indian team during the defeat in the opening Test against South Africa, but a mental change changed things in the second Test. India lost the first Test in Centurion by an innings and 32 runs, but on Thursday registered a seven-wicket win against South Africa in the second Test within two days to draw the series 1-1.
KL Rahul told ‘Star Sports’, “I think we were not really 100 percent during our last match in terms of batting or bowling. We were ready, but the extra edge or extra aggression was missing. The credit also goes to South Africa that they did not allow that level of confidence to reach.”
He further said, “There was only a slight change in planning and attitude. I mean we cannot say that we were not prepared during the last Test match. We were prepared but there are situations where the opponent really takes you out of the contest or we were not used to that.”
Rahul said, “For the last four-five years we have been a team which is really competitive and we have won series outside India, so we were not prepared for this. This was a shock for us. It shows how much we enjoy playing Test cricket and how much importance we give to playing for our country. How much does a Test win outside India mean to us?”
