Shakib Al Hasan out LBW
On 6 November 2022, Bangladesh vs Pakistan match of Group 2 was being played in T20 World Cup 2024. Bangladesh was batting first, but when the team captain Shakib Al Hasan came to the crease, he was out LBW on his very first ball. He had a feeling that the ball had touched his bat, so he immediately signaled for DRS. Shakib believed that the ball first hit the bat and then the pad, but when the ball hit the bat, the bat was also touching the ground at the same time. The TV umpire watched the replay for a long time and also took the help of the snickometer. The third umpire said that the ball did not hit the bat and the spike came in the snickometer due to the collision of the bat and the ground. Due to this, Shakib was given out, but he was adamant on his point that there was a connection between the ball and the bat. Therefore, due to this decision, Shakib clashed with the ground umpire.
Fake fielding by Virat Kohli
The India vs Bangladesh match of the Super-12 stage was being played in the 2022 World Cup, in which the Indian team emerged victorious by 5 runs. This incident was of the 7th over of Bangladesh’s innings, in which Liton Das walked the ball towards the off-side. In such a situation, Arshdeep Singh was standing very deep in the square position. The ball was going to Arshdeep, but Virat Kohli, standing at the point position, had signaled to throw the ball without having the ball in his hand. After the match, Bangladeshi player Nurul Hasan said that if the ground umpires had seen this action of Kohli, he should have got 5 extra runs. While commentating, Aakash Chopra also said that Kohli has done fake fielding.
Virat Kohli’s no-ball controversy
In the T20 World Cup, India defeated Pakistan by 4 wickets in a thrilling match. India’s innings had reached the 20th over and the team needed 13 runs in the last 3 balls. Meanwhile, Mohammad Nawaz bowled a full-toss ball, on which Kohli hit a six. Kohli demanded a no-ball the very next moment and it was also declared a no-ball. Babar Azam also clashed with the umpire, but no review was taken. Looking at the height of the ball, it was difficult to clearly ascertain that it was above Kohli’s waist. This controversy also gained momentum because Virat was out of the crease. Pakistani players still believe that it was not a no-ball. In the same over, Kohli was bowled on a free hit, against which the players of the Pak team were seen appealing.
