He said India must focus on building its own AI ecosystem to ensure data security and digital self-reliance. Speaking at a startup event, the Prime Minister said artificial intelligence will play a major role in shaping India’s future economy and governance. He stressed that India should not depend on foreign technology for critical digital infrastructure.

The Prime Minister highlighted the importance of keeping Indian data within the country. He said AI systems should run on Indian servers so that sensitive information remains protected under Indian laws.
He also spoke about how AI can be used in sectors such as healthcare, education, agriculture and governance. According to him, technology should be used to solve real problems faced by people, especially in rural and small-town India.
PM Modi assured startups of full government support in terms of policy, funding and infrastructure. He said the government is working on creating a strong digital backbone that will help young entrepreneurs grow their businesses.
India is already making rapid progress in digital innovation, and the Prime Minister said indigenous AI will be the next big step in the country’s technology journey.
