According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain at some places in Jharkhand and Orissa from January 19 to 17-18, after which the temperature may increase.

The entire North India including the capital Delhi is in the grip of cold and fog. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted dense to very dense fog in North India during the next 5 days. Due to this, airports, highways and railway routes may be affected. People in North India will not get relief from cold in the next 2 days and cold winds will continue to blow in the plains as well. 

The Meteorological Department has predicted the fog to become denser and cover parts of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, remaining parts of Punjab and some more parts of North Rajasthan and North Madhya Pradesh during the night.

Chance of rain in Jharkhand and Orissa
IMD said that from January 19, there is a possibility of rain at some places in Jharkhand and Orissa on 17-18th, due to which the temperature here will rise. There will be an increase. However, the temperature may increase due to the arrival of eastern winds. The Meteorological Department said that due to easterly winds the temperature may increase by up to 4 degrees in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

There will be no relief from fog
According to IMD, cold will continue in Punjab, Delhi, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana. Cold was also seen at many places in the three states on Tuesday (January 16). In many places in these states the temperature remained less than 4 degrees. Apart from this, a blanket of dense fog was seen in the states of Punjab and North-East India. The Meteorological Department said that compared to January 14, there has been a decrease in fog in the Northeast. However, people will not get respite from the fog here right now. 

Cold wave in Punjab and Haryana
The weather department said that cold wave conditions with dense fog will prevail in Punjab and Haryana today. This situation needs to continue on January 17 also. However, from January 18, both the states may get relief from the cold wave. 

At the same time, during the last 24 hours, the minimum temperature in most parts of Punjab, Haryana – Chandigarh-Delhi remained between 2 – 5 degrees Celsius. In many parts of Jharkhand the temperature was recorded between 6 to 10 degrees Celsius. Today the lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Hisar, Haryana
