What is monsoon

If we understand monsoon in simple words, it means weather. Monsoon is the biggest factor affecting the weather of South Asia. In a country like India, crop yield and availability of underground water are directly linked to monsoon. In simple language, monsoon refers to those winds that change direction after the summer season. These winds change their direction and start blowing from cold to hot areas at this time. Since they flow from cold areas to hot regions, the amount of moisture in these winds is very high. This is the reason why they rain as soon as they hit the coast of Kerala in India.
