Weather Updates: Will winter return in UP-Bihar? Rain can change the mood, scorching sun will trouble in the South, read- Latest update of IMD

Today Weather Updates: Rain has been seen in some parts of UP-Bihar, while the temperature in Delhi-NCR remained very high on Wednesday (21 February). However, it is likely to be less.


Weather Updates: The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert for several regions across the country. In West Bengal, areas near the Ganga river are likely to experience rain and thunderstorms, accompanied by winds reaching speeds of 40-50 km/h and possible hail. Similarly, the north-eastern states, including Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, may experience thunderstorms and strong winds with speeds of 30-40 km/h. Heavy rain is expected in parts of Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and Nagaland, with possible snowfall in the Himalayan regions of Arunachal Pradesh.

Changes in weather are also anticipated in Delhi-NCR, with light rain expected due to a western disturbance, leading to a drop in temperatures. Coastal areas and states like Odisha, Rayalaseema, and Kerala are expected to experience hot and humid weather, while South Indian states may see an increase in temperatures. Additionally, a low-pressure area in the western Himalayan region may lead to rain and snowfall, with reports of snowfall in high-altitude places such as Badrinath Dham, Kedarnath Dham, Songarm, Gulmarg, and hilly parts of Himachal Pradesh.

Weather Alert for West Bengal and North-Eastern States

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, there may be rain with thunderstorms in the areas adjacent to the Ganga river in West Bengal. Wind speed can reach 40-50 km per hour. Hail may also occur in some areas.

Heavy Rainfall Expected in Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, and Assam

Thunderstorms and strong winds can be seen in the north-eastern states of India, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura. The speed of strong wind can be 30 to 40 km per hour. It may rain in some areas of these states.

Rainfall Forecast for Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar

The Meteorological Department has said that there may be heavy rain in some areas of Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland. Snow may also fall in the Himalayan areas of Arunachal Pradesh.

Changing Weather Patterns in Delhi-NCR

According to Skymet Weather, there may be rain in the districts of Prayagraj, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Ghazipur, Jaunpur located in the eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh on Thursday also. Light to moderate rain may also occur in districts like Patna, Darbhanga, Purnia, Bhagalpur, Araria, Katihar of Bihar.

Changing Weather Patterns in Delhi-NCR

The weather is going to change in Delhi-NCR also. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be light rain due to western disturbance on Thursday morning. There may be a drop in the maximum temperature, which can reach 25 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature may reach 11 degrees.

Snowfall and Rainfall in Western Himalayan Region

The Meteorological Department has said that there is going to be hot and humid weather in coastal areas and states like Odisha, Rayalaseema and Kerala. Increase in temperature can be seen in the states of South India, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh. In some areas of Kerala the temperature has crossed 30 degrees.

Snowfall Reported in Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh

Due to the low pressure area formed in the western Himalayan region, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall. There has been snowfall at high altitude places like Badrinath Dham and Kedarnath Dham of Uttarakhand. Something similar has also happened in Songarm, Gulmarg of Jammu and Kashmir and hilly parts of Himachal Pradesh.
