A 28-year-old Indian man, identified as Anshul Kuncha, was shot dead in North Philadelphia while delivering a pizza order late at night.
The incident took place shortly after 12:30 a.m. at the Raymond Rosen Homes housing complex. According to police, Kuncha had completed the delivery when he was shot in the head outside the building. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later declared dead.
Investigators discovered that the pizza order had been placed for a vacant apartment, raising suspicions that the delivery may have been a setup. Surveillance footage reportedly showed two individuals following Kuncha before the shooting, although the actual attack was not captured on camera.
Police have recovered evidence from the scene and are tracing the phone number used to place the order. No arrests have been made so far. The Consulate General of India in New York has expressed condolences and is providing support to the victim’s family while authorities continue their investigation.
