Chhattisgarh Food Poisoning: Consuming a dish made from wild mushrooms (footu) proved disastrous for a family in Chhattisgarh’s Kondagaon district. In Palari village, eight members of the same family suddenly fell ill a few hours after eating the mushroom dish. They were admitted to the district hospital after complaining of vomiting, diarrhea, and severe abdominal pain. Some members of a neighboring family who had consumed the same dish also suffered from food poisoning. According to reports, the Dewangan family of Palari village had prepared the wild mushroom dish at home on Sunday.
A few hours after their meal, around 2:00 AM, family members began complaining of vomiting, diarrhea, and severe stomach pain one by one. As their condition deteriorated, relatives immediately rushed them to the district hospital in private vehicles. The sick individuals included two children, three women, and three men. After examining them, doctors at the district hospital admitted five patients in serious condition for treatment, while the others were sent home following first aid and observation.
Doctors stated that the affected family had also shared the mushroom dish with their neighbors. Subsequently, some members of the neighboring family fell ill with similar symptoms and were also brought to the hospital for treatment. All patients are currently undergoing treatment, and their condition is reported to be stable.
