CG EV Charging Stations: Big relief for electric vehicle drivers! Plans to open over 200 EV charging stations in Chhattisgarh; government to provide financial assistance.

CG EV Charging Stations: To promote the use of electric vehicles (EVs) in the state, over 200 charging stations will be opened at various locations. Financial assistance will be provided to those setting up these stations, in accordance with established rules and the EV policy. A high-level meeting regarding the EV policy was held on Wednesday, chaired by Transport Secretary S. Prakash. During the meeting, he discussed in detail the financial assistance available—and its implementation—for setting up EV charging stations under the Government of India’s PM E-DRIVE scheme. He also outlined the various facilities and incentives being offered to citizens and investors under Chhattisgarh’s EV policy. The meeting was attended by Deputy Transport Commissioner Manoj Kumar Dhruv, RTOs and DTOs from all districts, EV manufacturers, dealers, and representatives from oil companies (HPCL, BPCL, and IOCL).

NOC to be Granted

An NOC (No Objection Certificate) will be issued in accordance with regulations upon application for setting up an EV charging station. RTOs and DTOs have been instructed to identify suitable sites for EV charging stations within their respective jurisdictions. Additionally, directives were issued to coordinate the process of obtaining necessary NOCs from relevant departments. Currently, EV manufacturers, private charging service providers, and oil retail companies provide information about charging stations through their own separate mobile apps. Discussions were held regarding the development of a state-level system that would allow citizens to easily access information about all EV charging stations in the state through a single platform or an integrated app.

EV App to be Developed

The Energy Department, through CHiPS (Chhattisgarh Infotech Promotion Society), is working on the pilot development of an EV app. Suggestions were also discussed on how to make the app more user-friendly and effectively available to the general public. Representatives from oil companies presented details regarding the current status of established and proposed EV charging stations in the state, as well as future action plans. The government is taking a major step to promote electric vehicles in Chhattisgarh. More than 200 EV charging stations will be set up across the state. Those establishing these stations will receive financial assistance, the necessary No Objection Certificates (NOCs) in accordance with regulations, and enhanced facilities. Additionally, plans are underway to develop an integrated EV app to provide information about all charging stations in the state.
