Mahatari Vandan Yojana: Thousands of eligible women in Chhattisgarh have been waiting for a long time for new registrations under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana. Even after the scheme’s launch, many women were unable to apply or missed out on benefits due to technical issues. There is now renewed speculation about the portal reopening. Although the government has been offering repeated assurances, the application process has not yet resumed.
Mahatari Vandan Portal: Eligible women await the portal’s reopening
For nearly a year and a half, the Department of Women and Child Development has claimed that preparations for new registrations are underway. Eligible married women are hopeful that the portal will open soon, allowing them to avail themselves of the scheme’s benefits. As of now, the department has not announced an official date.
Minister states preparations are in the final stage
Women and Child Development Minister Lakshmi Rajwade recently stated that the Chief Minister has approved the expansion of the scheme. The department is currently finalizing technical and administrative preparations. The government plans to launch the application process in the Bastar division first, followed by opening the portal in other divisions.
Women set to benefit the most
The reopening of the portal is expected to bring relief to women who could not apply earlier or failed to join the scheme despite being eligible. Once new registrations begin, they too will be able to access the monthly financial assistance provided under the Mahatari Vandan Yojana.
