The Department’s Under Secretary has written to the Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI), granting approval to exempt candidates belonging to Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG) from the mandatory D.Ed. and TET requirements for the post of Assistant Teacher. This order has sparked renewed hope among candidates who have been awaiting the recruitment process for a long time.
CGSSB Teacher Vacancy: Order Issued by School Education Department
In a letter issued by R.P. Verma, Under Secretary of the School Education Department, the DPI has been informed that the government has approved the proposal dated July 31, 2026. According to the letter, administrative approval has been granted for PVTG candidates to apply via the CGSSB online portal, with exemptions from D.Ed. and TET requirements, in accordance with the provisions of the department’s gazette notification dated January 10, 2013. This order is considered crucial for the proposed recruitment of 5,000 teachers in the state.
As per the departmental order, this exemption applies only to candidates belonging to PVTGs (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups) who are applying for the post of Assistant Teacher. These candidates will be granted relief from the mandatory D.Ed. and TET requirements—consistent with the department’s gazette notification of January 10, 2013—thereby enabling them to participate in the recruitment process.
What the Departmental Letter States
In the letter sent to the DPI, Under Secretary R.P. Verma stated that the proposal submitted to the department has been examined. The proposal had requested permission for PVTG candidates applying for the Assistant Teacher post to submit online applications on the CGSSB portal while being exempted from D.Ed. and TET requirements.
