New Delhi: News of a tragic incident has emerged from the Raghubir Nagar area of the capital, Delhi, early Monday morning. A massive fire suddenly broke out in a warehouse located in Raghubir Nagar. The blaze was so intense that two people were caught in it and were subsequently declared dead at the hospital. Fire Sparked by E-Rickshaw Battery Explosion
According to sources, the fire broke out on the first floor of the warehouse in Raghubir Nagar, where e-rickshaw batteries were stored. It is reported that a powerful explosion occurred in one of these batteries early in the morning. Within moments, the fire originating from the battery intensified, and flames spread throughout the warehouse.
Fire Department Brings Blaze Under Control
The fire department swung into action immediately upon receiving news of the fire at 4:42 AM. Four fire tenders rushed to the scene, and after a strenuous effort, the fire was brought under control. However, two individuals had already been caught in the blaze before it could be contained.
Lives Lost Despite Rescue Efforts
Two people present in the warehouse were trapped by the fire and smoke. During rescue operations, both were pulled out of the building and rushed to the nearby Guru Gobind Singh Hospital. However, upon examination, doctors declared both of them ‘brought dead.’ The deceased have been identified as 17-year-old Sufed (son of Mohammad Naseeb) and 38-year-old Mohammad Samid (son of Sheikh Ridki). A pall of gloom has descended upon both families following the tragedy. Rescue teams are continuing to search the warehouse. The local administration is now engaged in further investigation regarding the fire that broke out in the warehouse.
