Train Cancellations: Rail passengers are set to face increased difficulties in September and October. Train operations under the South East Central Railway will be affected due to the commissioning of a fifth railway line between the Bandamunda Cabin (A) and Rourkela section in the Chakradharpur Division of the South Eastern Railway. During this period, the railway administration will undertake non-interlocking work and traffic blocks in various phases. Consequently, several trains have been cancelled on scheduled dates, while the routes and timings of others have been altered. Passengers across three states, including Chhattisgarh, will be affected by these disruptions.

According to the Railways, the 18109/18110 Itwari-Tatanagar-Itwari Express (running between Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Itwari and Tatanagar) will remain cancelled on September 25–30 and October 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11, 12, and 13. Operations of the 18113 Tatanagar-Bilaspur Express will also be affected during this period. Additionally, the Bilaspur-Tatanagar Express will remain cancelled on scheduled dates between September 26 and October 14.
Impact on Long-Distance Trains
The 12767 Nanded-Santragachi Express will be cancelled on September 28 and October 12, while the 12768 Santragachi-Nanded Express will be cancelled on September 30 and October 14. The 01001 LTT-Santragachi Special (on September 29) and the 01002 Santragachi-LTT Special (on October 1) will also remain cancelled.
Furthermore, operations of the 18641 Hatia-Durg Express (on October 1 and 13) and the 18642 Durg-Hatia Express (on October 2 and 14) will be cancelled. Train No. 22843 Bilaspur-Buxar Express will remain cancelled on October 9, and Train No. 22844 Buxar-Bilaspur Express will remain cancelled on October 10.
Train No. 12812 Hatia-LTT Express will not run on October 10, and Train No. 12811 LTT-Hatia Express will not run on October 12. Train No. 12262 Howrah-CSMT Duronto Express will remain cancelled on October 13, and Train No. 12261 CSMT-Howrah Duronto Express will remain cancelled on October 14. Additionally, the operation of Train No. 13288/13287 Ara-Durg-Ara South Bihar Express will be cancelled on October 1.
Utkal Express to run via diverted route
The Railways has also modified the routes and timings of certain trains. Train No. 18477 Puri-Yog Nagari Rishikesh Utkal Express will run via a diverted route on September 30, October 1, and October 12. This train will travel to Yog Nagari Rishikesh via Cuttack, Sambalpur City, Jharsuguda Road, and Ib. Meanwhile, Train No. 12860 Howrah-CSMT Gitanjali Express, scheduled to depart from Howrah on October 13, will depart two hours behind schedule.
