LPG Cylinder Price Hike: Commercial LPG cylinders have become more expensive starting September 1st. Oil marketing companies have raised the price of 19 kg commercial gas cylinders by ₹9.50 in several major cities. This price adjustment, occurring at the start of the month, has increased costs for businesses reliant on commercial LPG. According to the latest rates, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi has risen from ₹2,738 to ₹2,747.50. In Chennai, the price has increased from ₹2,906 to ₹2,916.50.
No Hike in Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices
This price hike primarily affects restaurants, hotels, dhabas, sweet shops, and other businesses that use commercial LPG cylinders for cooking and other operations. There is some relief for domestic consumers, however, as the price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged in this month’s revision.

However, the steepest hike occurred in Kolkata, where the price rose by ₹11.50 to reach ₹2,884 per cylinder. Notably, in cities like Thiruvananthapuram and Bengaluru, the price of the 19 kg LPG cylinder increased by ₹10, reaching ₹2,784 and ₹2,831, respectively. Additionally, LPG prices in cities like Bhubaneswar and Hyderabad have risen by ₹11, reaching ₹2,919 and ₹2,996, respectively. Notably, even after the ₹11 hike in September, the price of LPG in Patna remains above the ₹3,000 mark, standing at ₹3,029 per cylinder. Consequently, LPG is most expensive in Patna.
