Durg: The Chhattisgarh government has modified the arrangements for paddy procurement at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the 2026-27 Kharif marketing season. At the behest of the Central Government, registration on the AgriStack portal has now been made mandatory for all farmers in the state.
With the implementation of this new rule, the state’s previous ‘Integrated Farmer Portal’ has been discontinued. Farmers will no longer need to submit separate applications on the old portal; instead, the digital records registered on the AgriStack portal will serve as the sole valid basis for paddy procurement. During the procurement process, the farmers’ valid acreage (agricultural land) will be verified using data from this portal and the digital crop survey.
Registration Open Until October 31
According to the state government, farmers can register anew or make necessary amendments to existing records between July 1 and October 31. To facilitate this process, the Chhattisgarh Farmer Registry (CGFR) website has been launched. Farmers can register online from the comfort of their homes via this official website. Additionally, farmers who are not tech-savvy can complete their registration free of charge with the assistance of their nearest cooperative society, Choice Center, Patwari, or Rural Agricultural Extension Officer.
Strict Rules for Joint Account Holders
Under this new system, regulations for joint account holders (co-owners) have been tightened. In cases of joint land ownership, registration by the head of the family alone will no longer suffice. It is mandatory for all co-owners listed in the land records (such as brothers, sisters, daughters, etc.) to register individually on AgriStack; only then will they be able to sell their share of the paddy. The government has urged all farmers to complete their registration on time—without waiting for the deadline—to avoid any issues during paddy sales.
District Administration Gears Up
Meanwhile, the district administration is taking proactive measures to ensure convenience for the farmers. Durg Collector Abhijit Singh stated that instructions have been issued to organize special camps in rural areas to facilitate verification, consent, and registration. He clarified that farmers will not be able to sell paddy this year without AgriStack registration. Registration for co-account holders has also been made mandatory.
Over 2.7 million registered last year
In Chhattisgarh, approximately 2.74 million farmers registered during the Kharif marketing year 2025-26. Last year, 2.549 million farmers sold paddy. This represents an increase of about 191,000 in the number of registered farmers, marking a rise of approximately 7.5 percent.
