The primary reasons cited for this weather shift are a low-pressure area and cyclonic circulations in the upper atmosphere over different regions. There is a risk of landslides in hilly states due to heavy rainfall. In the plains, strong winds could cause tree branches to break and fall; consequently, people are advised not to stand under trees or near weak structures. High waves are also expected at sea, so fishermen have been advised not to venture out during this inclement weather.

Rain is expected in some areas of Delhi on September 9. The capital is likely to record a maximum temperature of 36°C and a minimum of 26°C.
Heavy Rain in Uttar Pradesh
A heavy rain alert has been issued for several districts in Uttar Pradesh, including Prayagraj, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Kanpur, Mirzapur, Deoria, Shahjahanpur, Meerut, Aligarh, Mathura, Balrampur, Bahraich, Varanasi, Rampur, Sonbhadra, and Gorakhpur.
Alerts for Bihar and Rajasthan
In Bihar, warnings for heavy rain and thunderstorms have been issued for districts such as Patna, Gaya, Purnia, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Madhubani, and West Champaran.
Heavy rain is forecast for several districts in Rajasthan, including Jaipur, Bikaner, Kota, Udaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, and Bharatpur. Wind speeds here could reach up to 50 km/h.
Higher Risk in Hilly States
Heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely in several areas of Uttarakhand, including Dehradun, Nainital, Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Chamoli. An alert for heavy rainfall has also been issued for the Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Solan, Bilaspur, and Kinnaur districts of Himachal Pradesh. There is an increased risk of landslides accompanied by strong winds in these areas.
Additionally, adverse weather conditions are expected in Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, West Bengal, Odisha, Telangana, and Maharashtra.
