Disha Salian Case Update: A significant development has emerged in the case regarding the death of Disha Salian, the former manager of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, nearly six years after the incident. Following directives from the Bombay High Court, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered an FIR and initiated an investigation into her death. The agency will now probe serious allegations such as murder, gang rape, criminal conspiracy, destruction of evidence, and the fabrication of records.
Disha Salian was found dead on the night of June 8, 2020, after falling from a building in Malad West, Mumbai. At the time, an Accidental Death Report (ADR) was filed regarding the incident. However, her family consistently maintained that her death was not merely an accident and demanded a fresh investigation into the entire matter.
Investigation Initiated Following High Court Directive
Disha Salian’s family has long suspected foul play, alleging murder. During the hearing, the division bench of the Bombay High Court questioned why only an ADR had been registered despite such serious allegations.
The court also noted that copies of the post-mortem report and the ADR had not been provided to her family for nearly five years after her death. Consequently, the High Court directed the CBI to register an FIR and conduct a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding the case.
Under Which Sections Did the CBI Register the FIR?
The CBI’s Special Crime-II Branch, New Delhi, registered the FIR in the case on September 13, 2026 (FIR No. RC0502026S0006). Several serious sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) have been invoked.
The allegations to be investigated by the CBI include criminal conspiracy, gang rape, murder, destruction of evidence, and alleged irregularities in official records. Section 120-B – Criminal Conspiracy
Section 376(D) – Gang Rape
Section 302 – Murder
Section 201 – Destruction of evidence or concealment of an offense
Section 217 – Disobedience of law by a public servant with intent to save an accused
Section 218 – Preparation of incorrect records with the intent to save a person from punishment
Malad flat at the center of the investigation
According to the CBI’s FIR, the incident is reported to have occurred on the intervening night of June 8 and 9, 2020. The investigative agency has identified Flat No. 1202 at Regent Galaxy Apartments in Malvani-Malad West, Mumbai, as the scene of the incident.
The CBI will now attempt to ascertain what actually transpired that night and the circumstances surrounding Disha Salian’s death. The scope of the investigation will not be limited merely to the circumstances of the death; it will also examine whether records were altered—or if evidence was tampered with, false information provided, or attempts made to shield individuals—following the incident.
Roles of several individuals under scrutiny
The FIR, registered based on the complaint filed by Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, seeks an investigation into the roles of several individuals. The complaint mentions certain figures from the political and film industries, as well as officers associated with the Mumbai Police and the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
The names of Aditya, Sooraj Pancholi, Dino Morea, and certain bodyguards are also cited in the complaint. However, the mere mention of an individual’s name in a complaint or FIR does not constitute proof of a crime. The CBI will investigate all these aspects, and the situation will become clearer based on the available evidence.
Father hopeful for justice
Disha Salian’s father, Satish Salian, has expressed his willingness to share information regarding the case with the investigating officers and provide the names of several individuals. He has expressed hope that the CBI investigation will reveal the truth behind the matter and ensure justice for the family. Shweta Singh Kirti Also Expresses Hope
Following the commencement of the CBI investigation, Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister, Shweta Singh Kirti, has also responded. Sharing a video on social media, she welcomed the CBI probe and expressed hope that it brings optimism to Sushant’s fans and to those who have long been waiting for the truth behind the case to emerge.
It is now expected that the CBI investigation will clarify the actual circumstances surrounding Disha Salian’s death and determine the veracity of the serious allegations made in the FIR. As the investigation progresses, answers to several crucial questions related to the case may come to light.
