Chhattisgarh Teacher News: Important update for guest teachers! Honorarium for six months released for 1,535 teachers in Chhattisgarh.

Chhattisgarh Teacher News: An important update regarding the payment of honorarium to guest teachers in Chhattisgarh has been released. The Directorate of Public Instruction, under the School Education Department, has released a sum of ₹18.42 crore to cover six months of honorarium payments for 1,535 guest teachers working across 25 districts of the state for the 2026-27 financial year. Following the order issued on September 18, the payment process will now proceed in the respective districts.

1,535 Guest Teachers to Benefit

According to the Directorate of Public Instruction’s order, the honorarium funds have been allocated based on the number of guest teachers working in the state’s 25 districts. Guest teachers receive a monthly honorarium of ₹20,000. Based on this rate, a single teacher is entitled to a total honorarium of ₹1.20 lakh for a six-month period.

The allocated funds will be utilized to pay the guest teachers’ honorarium through the respective districts.

Funds for Seven Districts of Bastar Division

All seven districts of the Bastar division have been included in this allocation. Funds amounting to ₹1.596 crore have been released for 133 guest teachers in Bastar district. Meanwhile, ₹1.512 crore has been sanctioned for 126 teachers in Kanker, and ₹1.692 crore for 141 teachers in Kondagaon.

Additionally, allocations have been made as follows: ₹37.20 lakh for 31 guest teachers in Dantewada, ₹57.60 lakh for 48 teachers in Sukma, ₹57.60 lakh for 48 teachers in Bijapur, and ₹43.20 lakh for 36 guest teachers in Narayanpur.

Highest Number of Guest Teachers in Balrampur (220)

According to the released information, the highest number of guest teachers—220—are employed in Balrampur district. A sum of ₹2.64 crore has been released to cover their honorarium for six months.

Additionally, ₹1.56 crore has been sanctioned for 130 guest teachers in Surajpur, and ₹85.20 lakh for 71 teachers in Sarguja.

Monthly Honorarium of ₹20,000

The government has fixed the monthly honorarium for guest teachers at ₹20,000. Over a six-month period, the total amount payable to a single guest teacher comes to ₹1.20 lakh. The total funds have been allocated based on this rate and the number of teachers working in the respective districts.

This allocation of ₹18.42 crore paves the way for the payment of six months’ honorarium to 1,535 guest teachers working across 25 districts of the state. The teachers are now expected to receive their honorarium for the specified period once the necessary departmental formalities are completed.
