People with GERD: For those suffering from Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), tea can sometimes worsen symptoms of acidity and reflux. Avoiding tea is often recommended, especially when symptoms are severe.

You should also avoid adding excessive refined sugar to your tea. It is advisable to break the habit of drinking tea on an empty stomach immediately after waking up; instead, drink some water and have a light breakfast before consuming tea.
