Raipur, October 1, 2026 – A major opportunity has emerged for the youth of Chhattisgarh seeking employment. The Chhattisgarh government is organizing a two-day state-level job fair in Raipur on October 7 and 8. Approximately 10,000 young people are expected to secure jobs at this event. Youth with diverse educational qualifications and skill sets can participate in the fair and find employment.
The fair will be organized by the Department of Skill Development, Technical Education, and Employment at the Sardar Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium in Budhapara. Its objective is to provide the state’s educated and trained youth with greater employment opportunities in the private sector that align with their qualifications. So far, the government has received details regarding 9,449 vacancies from 62 companies and placement agencies. Efforts to contact other companies are ongoing, which is likely to increase the number of available opportunities. This fair brings both local and national-level private companies onto a single platform.
On the second day of the job fair (October 8), Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and the Minister for Skill Development and Employment, Guru Khushwant Saheb, will distribute offer letters to the selected candidates. This event will further the state government’s efforts to connect youth with employment and foster self-reliance. Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb stated, “The state government is continuously striving for the holistic development of the youth and to make them self-reliant. Through this job fair, the aim is to provide as many young people as possible with opportunities that match their qualifications and skills.”
Employment Opportunities Across Various Sectors
Vacancies at the fair are available for a wide range of candidates—from those who have passed the 10th and 12th grades to those holding ITI, diploma, and engineering qualifications. Graduates in agriculture and general streams, as well as postgraduates—including those with MBA and MCA degrees—can also apply based on their eligibility. Vacancies for technically trained youth include roles such as machine operator, assembly operator, fitter, welder, electrician, electric meter technician, and maintenance electrician. Openings for mechanical engineers and quality inspectors are also available.
Additionally, the job fair offers opportunities for candidates interested in roles such as computer operator, customer care executive, telecaller, relationship manager, sales executive, and sales officer. Opportunities in banking, finance, and human resources (HR) are also being provided. The fair includes positions in the health and care sector (nursing staff and caretakers), security services (guards and supervisors), and the transport and logistics sector (drivers, delivery personnel, bike riders, and picker-packers). Candidates can apply based on their qualifications, interests, and the eligibility criteria for specific roles.
Participating Companies and Organizations
Companies such as Quess Corp, Randstad India, Rajasthan Textile Mills (Sutlej Textiles), Vardhman Textiles, Genus Power Infrastructure, and Airtel Payments Bank have provided vacancies for the job fair. Other participating entities include Instacart, Spandana Sphoorty Financial, Swatantra Microfin, NIIT, AISECT, Shanta Techno, Rajat Equipments, and First Fly Corporate.
Online Application via E-Rozgar Portal
The E-Rozgar portal is being utilized to streamline and organize the application and selection process for the job fair. Vacancies received from various companies and placement agencies are being displayed on the portal. Interested youths can register on the official portal www.erojgar.cg.gov.in, view details about available positions from the comfort of their homes, and apply based on their eligibility. This will allow them time to understand the available job opportunities prior to the job fair.
Employers will also be able to view candidates’ profiles and applications on the portal. Based on this information, they will be able to prepare lists of suitable candidates and conduct preliminary selection processes as required.
Previously, during the 2024-25 and 2025-26 fiscal years, 9,463 candidates were selected through state and district-level job fairs and placement camps organized by the Chhattisgarh Department of Employment and Training. According to the Department of Employment’s data, 5,314 candidates were selected across 311 placement camps and job fairs held in Raipur, Durg, and Bilaspur during 2024-25. Meanwhile, 4,149 candidates were selected through 245 placement camps and job fairs organized in Raipur, Baloda Bazar, and Durg during 2025-26. In the 2026 fiscal year, up to September, 224 placement camps and job fairs have been organized in the state, resulting in the selection of 8,878 candidates.
