Raipur: On the occasion of National Unity Day (Rashtriya Ekta Divas), a unique glimpse of Chhattisgarh’s art, culture, and tourism is being showcased at the ‘Bharat Parv’ held in Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, Gujarat. After inaugurating the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Chhattisgarh stall. During his visit, he met with artisans from Bastar and Narayanpur, expressing high praise for their craftsmanship and traditional artworks.
Prime Minister Modi inquired about the creation process of bamboo crafts and other traditional handicrafts from the artisans present at the stall. The artists extended a warm welcome to him with a performance of the ‘Bastariya Rela’ (a traditional folk dance/performance).
Dr. Subhada Chaturvedi of the Tourism Board stated that the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board has set up a special stall at the 15-day-long ‘Bharat Parv’. The stall highlights the state’s rich tradition of handicrafts and its prominent tourist destinations. Key attractions at the stall include Dokra art, iron craft, bamboo craft, and the renowned Kosa silk sarees.
Additionally, information regarding major tourist destinations and resorts in the state—including Champaran and the Chitrakote Waterfall—is also on display. Through this initiative, tourists from across the country are being introduced to the natural beauty, cultural diversity, and traditional arts of Chhattisgarh.
