Balod: A major tragedy was averted in the Balod district of Chhattisgarh. A passenger bus traveling from Rajnandgaon toward Balod suddenly caught fire. Within moments, the flames intensified, and the entire vehicle was engulfed in a fierce blaze, eventually burning down completely. Fortunately, all the passengers on board managed to escape in time, and no casualties have been reported.
According to the information received, the bus—operated by the ‘Super Anand’ company—was en route from Rajnandgaon to Balod when flames suddenly erupted near Malighori village. There were approximately 10 to 15 passengers on board at the time. The outbreak of the fire caused panic among the passengers; however, realizing the gravity of the situation, they all managed to exit the bus immediately and reach a safe location.
Meanwhile, upon learning of the incident, local residents rushed to the scene and attempted to extinguish the fire. However, the flames spread so rapidly that they proved impossible to control. Within a short time, the entire bus was reduced to ashes.
The cause of the fire is not yet known. Following the incident, the Balod police arrived at the scene and have initiated an investigation into the matter.
