Shehbaz Sharif’s Stunning Comeback: From Opposition to PM, How Did He Beat PTI’s Omar Ayub Khan?

Pakistan New Prime Minister: Shehbaz Sharif again becomes PM of Pakistan, defeats PTI's Omar Ayub Khan. Even before voting, the figures were in favor of PML-N. Imran Khan's PTI leader Omar Ayub Khan had filed his nomination against him for the post of PM.

Pakistan New Prime Minister: Senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N) Shehbaz Sharif has once again become the Prime Minister of Pakistan. On Sunday (3 March 2024), he was elected PM after voting. Shahbaz Sharif had filed his nomination for the post of Prime Minister on Saturday (2 March). Even before the voting, the figures were in favor of PML-N and it was believed that the command of the country would once again come into the hands of Shehbaz Sharif. Imran Khan’s PTI leader Omar Ayub Khan had filed his nomination  against him for the post of PM.

Who got how many votes?

Voting for the election of PM started in Pakistani Parliament on Sunday. During voting, Shahbaz gained a lead of more than 100 votes over his rival. Shehbaz Sharif got a total of 201 votes, while PTI’s Omar Ayub Khan got 92 votes. After this, Shahbaz Sharif’s name was announced as the 24th Prime Minister of Pakistan.

Shehbaz Said – pass a resolution for the freedom of Kashmir and Palestine

After being elected Prime Minister, Shahbaz Sharif thanked Nawaz and all his colleagues for trusting him. Shahbaz said- Palestine is being oppressed in Gaza and Kashmiris in India. The international community is silent on this. We all should come together and pass a resolution in the Parliament for the freedom of Kashmir and Palestine.

Shahbaz said – Nawaz built the country

Earlier, Shahbaz said – When my brother was elected Prime Minister thrice, the development that took place in the country is an example in itself. It is not wrong to say that Nawaz Sharif is the one who created Pakistan. On the other hand, the country can never forget the sacrifices of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

Shahbaz Sharif vowed to eliminate terrorism and its roots in the country. He said- PML-N and allied parties will play their role as a Pakistani, Muslim and human being. There are talented people sitting in this Parliament who can sail the boat of Pakistan. These include journalists, intellectuals, politicians and religious leaders.

Shahbaz said – The old government (Imran) put the entire opposition in jail

Shahbaz said – My elder brother Nawaz has never thought of harming the country. Referring to the old regime (Imran Khan’s regime), he said- They put the entire opposition behind bars, they did not care about women or children.

PM Sharif further said- This is the difference between this leadership and that leadership. The entire gathering is witness to the fact that we never thought about politics of revenge. No building was ever destroyed during our rule. However, it is shameful that the country saw the day when army headquarters and government buildings were attacked on 9 May.

Big things about PM Shahbaz’s address…

  • Pakistan is facing a debt crisis, here even the expenses of the National Assembly are being paid by borrowing money.
  • We will take decisions to bring changes in the system and make fundamental reforms.
  • I have no doubt that Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari and others would agree that we can either get rid of the debt or we can hang our heads in shame and move on.
  • It will not happen that we proceed with the debt. We will bear the expenses and make Pakistan self-reliant.
  • Employment will increase and there will be progress in our government, we will sacrifice our lives for this.
  • Electricity and tax evasion is a matter of life and death for Pakistan.
  • With the will of God, we will eradicate this cancer from its roots and put the country on its feet. We will bring such technology which can avoid tax evasion.
  • Our government will provide special training related to technology and artificial intelligence to 5 lakh young students. These young students will not take jobs, but will give jobs.
  • The perpetrators of the May 9 riots will not be forgiven. Strict action will be taken against all those involved in this.
  • Our government will work hard and make the country a member of the G20 organization by 2030.
