Yashasvi Jaiswal Smashes Records: Fastest to 1000 Test Runs, Joins Don Bradman’s Elite List, Leaves Kohli and Pujara Behind

Yashasvi Jaiswal has come in the list of fastest batsmen to score 1000 runs in the history of Test cricket. After Don Bradman, Yashasvi Jaiswal is jointly at second place in this list. Apart from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Everton Weeks, Herbert Sutcliffe and George Headley have touched the figure of one thousand runs in 9 Tests. Among Indian batsmen, this record was earlier in the name of Sunil Gavaskar and Cheteshwar Pujara, who had achieved this position in 11 Tests.

Apart from this, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was out after scoring 57 runs on the first day against England, is the second Indian batsman after Sunil Gavaskar to score 700 runs in a Test series. Before Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sunil Gavaskar had done this feat twice. Sunil Gavaskar had scored more than 700 runs in the Test series against West Indies in 1971 and 1978.

With this, Yashasvi Jaiswal has come third in the list of batsmen who have scored most runs in a Test series for India. The first place in this list is Sunil Gavaskar, who scored 774 runs against West Indies in 1971. Gavaskar is also at second place in the list, who scored 732 runs against West Indies in 1978.

Apart from him, R Ashwin, playing his 100th match, took 4 wickets for 51 runs. While one wicket came in the account of Ravindra Jadeja.

In response, Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma gave a fast start to India. There was a partnership of 104 runs between the two for the first wicket in 20.4 overs.
