Chhattisgarh Naxal Encounter: A major Naxalite encounter has taken place in Kanker, Chhattisgarh. It is reported that 29 Maoists have been killed in an encounter between security forces and Naxalites. Two soldiers have also been injured in this encounter. Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma has targeted former Congress Home Minister and Mahasamund Lok Sabha candidate Tamradhwaj Sahu on Naxalism. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that while being the Home Minister for five years, Sahu did nothing against Naxalism. No major step was taken against Naxalism. Today the BJP government is continuously working to end Naxalism.
There was an encounter last month as well
It is worth mentioning that, there was an encounter in Hidoor area in Kanker district on March 3 last month. A soldier was martyred in this encounter in the forest of Hidoor. The name of the soldier was Bastar Fighters constable Ramesh Kurethi. The security forces found an AK-47 along with the body of a Maoist from here. According to the information, this encounter took place when the soldiers went out for searching in the forest of Hidoor. They had just reached the interior area when the Naxalites opened fire. This encounter lasted for about an hour.
Continuous encounters in the state
It is worth noting that encounters are constantly taking place between security forces and Naxalites in Chhattisgarh. On 10-11 March, police had an encounter with Naxalites in the border area of Dantewada-Bijapur. One Naxalite was killed in this encounter. On 10 March, police had received information that Naxalites are hiding in the border area of Dantewada and Bijapur. These Naxalites are in the forests of Purangel in Kirandul police station area and Pidia in Bijapur. They have a lot of weapons. On this information, DRG, Bastar Fighters Dantewada, Bijapur-Sukma Special Task Force and CRPF’s Cobra Battalion started an anti-Naxal operation together. During this search, this team encountered Naxalites on 11 March. Security forces killed one Naxalite in this encounter.

On 21 February also, there was a big encounter between the police and the Naxalites in the border area of Dantewada Bijapur. There was firing for about an hour here. This encounter took place in the forests of Pidia and Hitavar. This firing also took place when the soldiers were searching in the Gangalur police station area. It is worth noting that Naxalite incidents are continuously increasing in Chhattisgarh. In fact, to remove the Naxalites, the security forces are continuously setting up camps in their areas. This has made the Naxalites nervous.
