Stunning BMW R 1300 GS Launched in India – Price Equals 20 Splendor Plus Bikes!

BMW R 1300 GS Bike: The R 1300 GS is priced at Rs 20.95 lakh, which is lower than the Ducati Multistrada V4 line-up (Rs 21.48 lakh-31.48 lakh) and the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special (Rs 24.64 lakh).

BMW R 1300 GS Bike: BMW Motorrad has launched the R 1300 GS in India at Rs 20.95 lakh, which is Rs 40,000 more than the starting price of the current R 1250 GS bike.

Variants, and specifications

The R 1300 GS is powered by a 1,300cc twin-cylinder engine with a 13.3:1 compression ratio, as compared to the 1,254cc engine in the older model. Its peak output figures have increased from 134hp and 143Nm to 145hp at 7,750rpm and 149Nm at 6,500rpm. With a 19-litre fuel tank, the R 1300 GS weighs 237 kg. However, it has a litre less fuel capacity than before. Unlike international markets, where some R 1300 GS variants get alloy wheels or spoke rims, all bikes sold in India will get cross-spoke tubeless wheels as standard.

Other standard features on all India-spec 1300 GS bikes will be the Comfort and Dynamic package, which includes an electronic windscreen, bi-directional quickshifter, centre stand, Pro Riding Mode and more. Apart from this, all variants except the base Light White get the Touring package as standard. This package includes pannier mounts, chromed exhaust header pipe, adaptive headlight, knuckle-guard extender and mounting for a GPS device.

In India, the Triple Black variant is the only one that can be equipped with the optional Adaptive Ride Height feature. The range-topping option 719 Tramuntana is the only option that gets radar-assisted safety features like Active Cruise Control and Front Collision Warning along with an attractive green/yellow paint option, several milled metal components and radar-assisted safety features. However, this top model is not yet offered with the ARH feature.

You can choose extra accessories package

The R 1300 GS line-up is quite complex, and for details on what each pack includes and other optional extra accessories that you can equip the new big GS with, it’s advisable to visit BMW Motorrad’s Indian website and configure it.

Price and competition

The R 1300 GS is priced at Rs 20.95 lakh, which is lower than the Ducati Multistrada V4 line-up (Rs 21.48 lakh-Rs 31.48 lakh) and the Harley-Davidson Pan America 1250 Special (Rs 24.64 lakh), while the Triumph Tiger 1200 GT Pro is priced at Rs 19.19 lakh. Deliveries of the R 1300 GS are set to begin this month.
