International Yoga Day 2024: In the year 2014, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi proposed to celebrate 21 June as Yoga Day in front of the UN. Since then, 21 June was declared as International Day of Yoga. Yoga Day is celebrated every year for reasons such as highlighting the importance and need of yoga in our lives and encouraging people to do yoga. PM Modi himself also does yoga. How to do Tadasana
Tadasana means standing like a palm tree. To do this asana, first stand straight on the mat. There should be a distance of 2 inches between both the feet. Now bring both the hands in front and place the palms facing each other, press the fingers together and interlock and take the palms outwards. Now lift the hands in line with the shoulders and take them upwards. After this, lift the heels of your feet and maintain balance. Hold this posture for about 15 seconds and keep breathing normally. After this, come back to normal posture. Slowly separate the fingers and bring them to both sides of the body.Â
