Maruti Suzuki, Upcoming Maruti EV: Maruti Suzuki has an aggressive product strategy for the coming few years, in which it plans to introduce a range of new models while updating its existing product portfolio. Apart from bringing its first electric SUV this year along with the new generation Swift and Dezire, the company’s future roadmap includes several SUVs, MPVs and EVs. One of the upcoming Maruti Suzuki cars is an electric MPV, which is expected to hit the market in the second half of 2026. This new Maruti electric MPV, codenamed YMC, will be built on the platform of the eVX electric SUV coming in the 2024 Diwali season.

How will the new Maruti Electric MPV be?
Maruti YMC will be the first electric multi-utility vehicle of the brand, which will have 3-row seating layout. However, it is not possible to say anything about its design, specifications and features right now. But media reports suggest that the new Maruti electric MPV may share some design elements and powertrain components similar to the upcoming Maruti EVX. Maruti EVX has two battery pack options; It is expected to get an electric motor with one 40kWh and one 60kWh, which is claimed to have a range of 550 km on a single charge. eVX features can also be found in the new Maruti Electric MPV.
Many new vehicles will come in a few years
Apart from this, Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce a compact MPV based on the Japan-spec Specia. This model, which is less than 4 meters long, will have a 7-seater layout. According to reports, the new Maruti Mini MPV will come with a new Z-series 1.2L petrol engine, which will be seen in the new generation Swift in the coming months. This motor will be equipped with Maruti Suzuki’s new hybrid technology, which will be capable of giving more mileage. Maruti Suzuki Facelift will be the first model to be equipped with the company’s new hybrid technology, after which many other new models including new generation Baleno and Swift will also be seen in the market in the coming years.
