Reliance Allotted 1000 Acres for Dhirubhai Ambani Defense City in Ratnagiri
In a regulatory filing filed with the stock exchanges, Reliance Infrastructure said that the company has been allotted 1000 acres of land in the Watad Industrial Area of ​​Ratnagiri in Maharashtra to build Dhirubhai Ambani Defense City. In the same Dhirubhai Ambani Defense City (DADC), Reliance Infrastructure promoted company Reliance Defense Limited will set up a project to manufacture explosives, ammunition and small arms.
₹10,000 Crore Investment Planned for Ammunition and Small Arms Manufacturing
The ammunition range includes small, medium and large calibers and Terminally Guided Munition. The small arms portfolio will target both civil and military export markets. The company said that an investment of Rs 10,000 crore will be made on this project in the next 10 years. Reliance Infrastructure said that a possible joint venture is proposed for the project with six leading defense companies of the world.
Reliance’s Successful Joint Ventures with Dassault and Thales Export Globally
Reliance has a successful joint venture with two major defense companies, Dassault Aviation and Thales of France, in Mihan, Nagpur, Maharashtra. Dassault Reliance Aerospace Limited (DRAL) and Thales Reliance Defense Systems (TRDS) export 100 percent of their production. Reliance Infrastructure said that through its subsidiary, the company has exported defense equipment worth Rs 1000 crore.
Reliance Defence Receives License for Arms Manufacturing; Stock Declines 5%
Reliance Infrastructure’s subsidiary companies Jai Armaments Limited and Reliance Defence Limited have already received license from the Government of India to manufacture arms and ammunition. The company gave this information after the market closed. Earlier, Reliance Infrastructure’s stock closed at Rs 254.55 with a decline of 5 percent. Â
