Akanksha Chamola has been making headlines recently. On the reality show Lock Upp 2, she shared several significant secrets about her life, including the revelation that she is bisexual. She also disclosed that she had relationships with women prior to her marriage. While Shreya Kalra had previously hinted at these details, Akanksha has now confirmed them herself. She told hosts Riteish Deshmukh and Farah Khan that she had relationships with women before marrying Gaurav Khanna, stating that women represent a “safe space” for her.
Akanksha Confirms It Herself
When asked to open up about her secret, Akanksha said, “I was bisexual before marriage. I had relationships with some girls. They weren’t necessarily deeply intimate relationships, but I was involved with some women. And that’s it—I like girls.” She added, “I admire them; I am drawn to them. I feel that is my safe space. Growing up, I felt that this is a very male-dominated world. You always turn to your mother or sisters; there is a certain comfort zone you find with them, and I love that comfort.” Akanksha continued, “I really love that feminine energy; I feel I thrive in it. In the society we live in, people say two girls can never be friends—that there is always jealousy or competition between them—but I don’t feel that way at all. To me, all women are beautiful. For me, it is simply love; you can call it whatever you want—those are labels given by society. To me, it is true love.”
Show Participants Moved
After Akanksha revealed her truth on the show, the other contestants were visibly moved, and the hosts praised her for openly acknowledging her reality. Akansha was moved to tears when Farah Khan hugged her and praised her courage. She admitted that she had felt appearing on the show was a mistake, as her personal secrets were being revealed right from the very first day—referring to the moment she disclosed that she and Gaurav Khanna had separated and were getting a divorce.
