The story

if someone is on a wheelchair, cannot walk but still he brings gold for the country in Olympics, then the country should know the story of that hero and one such hero is the story of Murlikant Pedkar, Chandu Champion. Murlikant had only one dream since childhood, to bring gold medal for the country in Olympics. Because of this he was mocked but he persisted. He started wrestling and because of that some people became his enemies. He left home, joined the army, then took up boxing, then he got shot in a war and became paralyzed but still he brought gold medal for the country in swimming in Paralympics. This story is true and this story should be seen. The country should know this story.

How is the film?

This is a film that will fill you with a different emotion. If you are looking for motivation, then just watch this film. The film is amazing right from the beginning, it captivates you, you join Muralikant in his story. The village scenes look very good, one or two songs in between are a bit irritating but not so much that your interest in the film decreases. The first half is amazing, the second half is a bit slow but the reason for that is that it was necessary to properly show the pain of Murali sitting on a wheelchair and that pain could have been missed in a hurry. The film makes you cry, emotional, laugh, entertains and tells you that in life we often make excuses for not doing something but Muralikant did this amazing thing on a wheelchair and you come out of the theatre with a new enthusiasm.

Kartik has given his career’s best performance

He gave more than 2 years to the film and that hard work is evident. Be it his athlete-like body or Marathi accent. Kartik Aaryan has done a wonderful job, he has played every stage of Muralikant’s life brilliantly. He deserves a National Award for this film based on the hero of the country. Vijay Raj has done a wonderful job as Kartik’s senior and his coach, he is superb in every scene. Bhuvan Arora’s acting as Jarnail Singh is good. Shreyas Talpade has brought life to the small role of a policeman. Rajpal Yadav, who plays a compounder, has played this role brilliantly. Brijendra Kala has played a small role of a criminal, but a good actor can do wonders even in a small role and he has done it. Yashpal Sharma’s work is good, Sonali Kulkarni, who plays a journalist, has also done a good job.

Director

Kabir Khan spent more than 2 years on this film and it shows. His research and grip on the film is good. He should be praised for bringing forth the story of a hero like Muralikant. At some places, he has taken liberties as a filmmaker and this is justified.
