Raja Chaudhary and Shweta Tiwari first met during the audition for a TV show. According to Raja, they felt an instant, deep connection during that very first meeting. Their relationship blossomed naturally, without either of them needing to make a concerted effort to win the other over. They tied the knot in 1999. After the birth of their daughter, Palak, a few years into the marriage, Raja fully supported Shweta’s career. He claims he never harbored any male ego; he would drop Shweta off at the set and pick her up, always standing by her whenever she needed support.
From Husband to Unpaid Driver and House Help
As Shweta Tiwari’s acting career took off, Raja focused on managing the household and caring for their daughter. He effectively became a homemaker to keep the family running smoothly. However, things began to deteriorate over time. Raja alleged that conflicts and misunderstandings escalated after Shweta’s mother moved in with them. He believes Shweta’s mother played a major role in driving a wedge between the couple, often questioning Shweta about the need for Raja now that she had established her own identity. Raja states that while he used to purchase vehicles and other items for the family, he was made to feel as though he had been reduced to nothing more than an unpaid driver and a round-the-clock domestic helper.

He alleged that Shweta was having an affair with Cezzane Khan, her co-star from the show Kasautii Zindagii Kay. Raja claimed that it wasn’t just Cezzane; Shweta was involved with several other people during that period as well. Citing two specific incidents, Raja stated that Shweta lied to him repeatedly. On one occasion, she said she was going for a shoot, but when Raja arrived at the set to drop off some belongings, she wasn’t there; she later arrived in Cezzane Khan’s car. On another occasion, she claimed to be at a dubbing session, but upon reaching the studio, it was discovered that no such work was scheduled. According to Raja, a friend of his and Cezzane himself had admitted to the relationship. Cezzane had even said, “Yes, we are in a relationship. If you have the guts, come to my house in Koliwada.” Raja recalled asking, “Man, why are you doing this?” “Why are you ruining this family?” Sheezan asked. “What family? She never even lived with you. You were just a servant to her—without the pay. Just be happy the way you are.”

Raja also recounted the incident where he was suddenly evicted from his own home. He described how the police arrived unexpectedly and ordered him to leave immediately, despite the fact that he was a co-owner of the house. At that time, he was forced to leave with nothing but two pairs of clothes and shoes; however, the greatest pain for Raja was being separated from his daughter, Palak Tiwari. Raja claims that Shweta never allowed the father-daughter bond between him and Palak to flourish. He said, “I didn’t lose my career or money; instead, I lost the most beautiful moments I could have spent with my daughter.” While many parents continue to see their children after a divorce, he was never granted permission to meet his daughter.
Raja’s clarification regarding allegations of alcoholism and violence
The pain of separation from his daughter and the collapse of his family life shattered Raja emotionally. He admitted that, in an attempt to cope with this grief, he gradually fell prey to alcohol addiction. He acknowledges that this was the wrong path to take, but at the time, he saw no other way to escape the mental anguish he was suffering. Addressing the past allegations of assault and domestic violence leveled by Shweta, Raja clarified that he never raised a hand against her nor engaged in any form of physical violence. He admitted that in moments of anger, he did break objects like doors, the TV, or tables, but he never harmed Shweta. He stated that while heated words may have been exchanged during arguments, he never had any intention to hurt or humiliate anyone.
