Shilpa Shinde harassment case: TV actress Shilpa Shinde made headlines in June this year when she admitted to making false allegations of sexual harassment against Sanjay Kohli, the producer of the show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain. She has now joined the reality show Lock Upp: Badass Jail Atyaazhel Khel as a wildcard contestant. In a recent episode, the actress defended herself, stating that the producer had pleaded with her to return to the show and that she maintains a good relationship with him despite the allegations. While conversing with Yogesh Rawat and Riaz Ali, Shilpa clarified her stance on the false sexual harassment case. Yogesh remarked that he had experienced something similar and felt Shilpa was in the wrong, while Riaz opined that such false allegations can ruin a man’s life.
What did Shilpa Shinde say?
Shilpa stated, “I employed the strategies of Saam, Daam, Dand, Bhed (persuasion, price, punishment, and division). I didn’t misuse the law; I utilized it. If you claim I twisted the law to suit my needs, then you are the same people who light candles after a woman’s death and lament that she didn’t fight for her rights. He treats me well. After nine years, he practically begged me to return to the show. Why did he do that?” When Yogesh refused to change his opinion, Shilpa ended the conversation by saying, “I am right; you are still a child. You will understand only when something like this happens to you.”
The matter dates back to 2016
After quitting the hit sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain in 2016, Shilpa Shinde was embroiled in a major dispute with the show’s producers. While the production house accused her of unprofessionalism, Shilpa alleged that her outstanding dues were unpaid and that she had faced harassment and a toxic work environment on the set. A year later, she filed a complaint of sexual harassment against producer Sanjay Kohli. Eventually, the dispute was settled out of court. Recently, while speaking on Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa’s podcast, Shilpa recalled that difficult phase and made a shocking revelation. She admitted that the sexual harassment allegation leveled against the producer was not true, stating that she had done so because she felt she had no other recourse. She said, “I filed the complaint at that time because I felt I had no other option left; all avenues were closed to me.” Shilpa Shinde has now returned to her popular show, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain.
