The makers of ‘Dada – The Sourav Ganguly Story’ have unveiled the film’s first poster on former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly’s birthday. It offers fans their first glimpse of Rajkummar Rao portraying one of Indian cricket’s finest captains. In 2002, India played the NatWest Series final against England and secured a historic victory; following the win, Sourav Ganguly celebrated by taking off his shirt on the Lord’s balcony. Rajkummar Rao has now recreated this iconic scene. Along with the poster, the makers also announced the theatrical release date for the biopic.

Sharing the film’s first look on Instagram, Rajkummar wrote, “Happy birthday to our beloved Dada,” and announced that ‘Dada: The Sourav Ganguly Story’ will be released on May 14, 2027. Meanwhile, Ganguly also shared the poster, writing, “The best gift ever! Eagerly waiting to see you play my cover drive! @rajkummar_rao.”
Star Cast of the Sourav Ganguly Biopic
Apart from Rajkummar Rao, the film ‘Dada’ will also feature Tanya Maniktala, known for her work in projects such as ‘A Suitable Boy’, ‘Kill’, and ‘Tooth Pari’. She will play the role of Sourav Ganguly’s wife, Dona Ganguly, in the highly anticipated biopic ‘Dada: The Sourav Ganguly Story’. The film will be directed by Vikramaditya Motwane and produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg.
