There is good news for students studying in CBSE schools across Chhattisgarh. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched 19 free online courses designed to connect students from classes 8 to 12 with modern technologies. Through these courses, students in the state can now learn Artificial Intelligence (AI), Python programming, coding, cybersecurity, web technology, and other digital skills from the comfort of their homes. Notably, these courses are offered free of charge. Thousands of students from CBSE schools in Raipur, Bilaspur, Durg, Bhilai, Korba, Ambikapur, Jagdalpur, and other districts of the state will be able to benefit from this initiative. The Board has instructed all affiliated schools to disseminate information about this scheme to students and parents so that the maximum number of students can enroll in these digital courses.
CBSE has developed these online courses in collaboration with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT). All courses are available on NIELIT’s digital university platform. The objective is to equip students with future-oriented technologies and job-ready skills alongside their regular school education. Keeping the convenience of Chhattisgarh’s students in mind, many courses have been made available in both Hindi and English, allowing students from both rural and urban areas to learn easily in their preferred language. Students are free to choose any course based on their interests.
A key feature of these online courses is the flexibility they offer; students can study at their own pace and convenience without the obligation of attending classes at fixed times. Introductory courses span 15 hours, while advanced-level courses exceed 100 hours in duration. Education experts believe that this initiative will help students in Chhattisgarh develop digital skills and secure better opportunities in the competitive world of the future.
