Amit Shah edited video case- Telangana CM summoned: Delhi Police summoned Revanth Reddy on May 1, asked to bring his mobile

Amit Shah Fake Video Row: Delhi Police's Special Cell is investigating the fake video case of Amit Shah. The police started the investigation on the basis of the complaint of the Home Ministry. Telangana CM also shared this fake video of Amit Shah on social media.

Amit Shah Fake Video Row: Delhi Police has registered an FIR for sharing fake video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Now Delhi Police has issued a notice to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in this matter. On Monday (April 29), the police has issued a notice to Reddy in the matter of circulating fake video of Amit Shah and has asked him to present his side on May 1. 

In the notice issued by Delhi Police, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has been asked to bring his phone. According to Delhi Police sources, Reddy’s phone will also be investigated. Actually, Revanth Reddy had also shared a fake video of Amit Shah from his ex-account. Many party leaders, including the official account of Telangana Congress, had shared this video.

What did Amit Shah say in the edited video?

In this edited video, the Union Home Minister is allegedly seen talking about ending the reservation of SC-ST and OBC. In a PTI fact check, it was revealed that Amit Shah had talked about ending the reservation given to Muslims in Karnataka. 

On Sunday (April 28), Delhi Police had registered an FIR in the case of spreading the edited video of Amit Shah. The FIR was registered in this case on the complaint of BJP and Home Ministry. BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya had claimed that all those who shared this video on social media should be ready for legal action across the country.

Against whom was the FIR lodged?

In the FIR filed by the police, a case has been filed against all those who spread the fake video of Amit Shah. In this case, an FIR has been filed under Section 153/153A/465/469/171G of the IPC and Section 66C of the IT Act.

BJP called the video fake

In its complaint, BJP said that Amit Shah has not spoken about ending reservation for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST). The video which is being made viral is fake. BJP alleged that in the original video, Amit Shah had talked about removing unconstitutional reservation for Muslims in Telangana.

Regarding the edited video of the Home Minister. Along with this, information has been sought from both the social media platforms about which account this edited video has been posted from.
