Amit Shah to be the chief guest at Ayodhya Deepotsav; this will be his second visit to UP in 7 days.

Ayodhya: A grand ‘Deepotsav’ (festival of lights) will be organized in the city of Ayodhya on November 7. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the event as the chief guest. Preparations for his visit are already underway. Notably, this will be Shah’s second visit to Uttar Pradesh within a span of just seven days; he had previously attended a BJP working committee meeting in Lucknow on October 30.

Shah to visit Ayodhya for the first time since the consecration of Ram Lalla

This will be Amit Shah’s first visit to Ayodhya following the consecration (‘Pran Pratishtha’) of the idol of Ram Lalla at the Ram Mandir in January 2024. He had previously visited the city in December 2021. His first-ever visit to Ayodhya took place in 2013, when he served as a national general secretary of the BJP. Given this, his visit following the consecration at the Ram Mandir is considered particularly significant.

To attend the ‘Deepotsav’ on November 7

Preparations for the ‘Deepotsav’ in Ayodhya are in full swing. Amit Shah will participate as the chief guest in this grand event scheduled for November 7. Local arrangements are being made in anticipation of his arrival. All eyes will be on Shah’s presence, given the context of the Ram Mandir and the ‘Deepotsav’ celebrations.

Targeted the SP in Lucknow

During his visit to Lucknow on October 30, where he attended a BJP working committee meeting and addressed party workers, Amit Shah took aim at the Samajwadi Party (SP) while referencing the Ram Mandir movement. Shah questioned how those who had ordered gunfire on ‘kar sevaks’ (volunteers) during the Ram Mandir movement could even speak of returning to power—a remark directed at SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.

Focus on Amit Shah’s visits ahead of the 2027 elections

With the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly elections scheduled for 2027, Amit Shah’s frequent visits to the state are being viewed as politically significant. Following a meeting with BJP workers in Lucknow, his arrival in Ayodhya has become a topic of discussion. However, this visit is primarily scheduled for his participation in the Deepotsav event.
