CG School Holidays 2026: The dates for Dussehra, Diwali, and winter holidays for the year 2026 in Chhattisgarh’s educational institutions have been announced. According to the issued order, government, government-aided, and private schools in the state will observe a total of 15 days of holidays across these three occasions. A five-day break has been scheduled for each occasion.
5-Day Holiday for Dussehra
According to the order, the Dussehra holiday will be from October 17, 2026, to October 21, 2026. Schools will remain closed for five consecutive days during this period.
Schools to Remain Closed for 5 Days for Diwali
Schools will observe a holiday for Diwali from November 6, 2026, to November 10, 2026. A total of five days of holidays have been scheduled for this period as well.
Winter Holidays in December
Students will receive winter holidays at the end of the year. This break will last from December 24, 2026, to December 28, 2026. The winter holiday period will also consist of five days.
Thus, combining Dussehra, Diwali, and winter holidays, students will get a total of 15 days of holidays in 2026.
18-Day Holiday Period in the Previous Session
In the 2025-26 academic session, a total of 18 days of holidays were scheduled for these three occasions. Holidays of six days each were granted for Dussehra (September 29 to October 4, 2025), Diwali (October 20 to October 25, 2025), and winter break (December 22 to December 27, 2025).
In comparison, the duration for Dussehra, Diwali, and winter holidays in 2026 has been set at five days for each occasion.
