Chhattisgarh Naxal Encounters: The ongoing anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region have resulted in the killing of 24 Naxalites in two separate encounters in Bijapur and Kanker districts. Twenty Naxalites were killed in Bijapur while four were killed in Kanker. Automatic weapons were recovered from the deceased, and the firing is still ongoing in the area. Chhattisgarh Naxal Encounters: Ongoing Operation
According to Bijapur SP Jitendra Yadav, the encounter continues in the Andri area. The operation began based on intelligence that a large number of Naxalites were hiding in the Gangalore region. The security forces, consisting of DRG (District Reserve Guard) and STF personnel, launched a joint mission targeting the Bijapur-Dantewada border.
The operation is also ongoing in other parts of Bastar. On the Narayanpur-Dantewada border, two soldiers were injured in an IED blast in the Thulthuli area, but their condition is reported to be stable.
Chhattisgarh Naxal Encounters: Rising Casualties
So far in 2025, around 71 Naxalites have been killed in Chhattisgarh. In 2024, security forces reportedly neutralized approximately 300 Naxalites in various encounters, recovering 290 weapons.
